General Questions

Q: What makes Quality Log Cabins different?
A: Our cabins are made from premium slow-grown Nordic spruce and designed for the UK climate. Every kit is precision-cut, easy to assemble, and can be ordered as a self-build kit or with professional installation through our trusted installers.

Q: Do you offer custom sizes or designs?
A: Yes. Alongside our standard cabin models, we offer bespoke design options. Whether you need a home office, garden gym, studio, or guest lodge, our team can modify sizes, window layouts, or roofing styles to suit your space and purpose.

Q: Are your log cabins suitable for year-round use?
A: Absolutely. All our cabins can be insulated, and we offer optional double glazing, roof insulation, and floor insulation upgrades. Many customers use our cabins as home offices or guest rooms all year round.

Ordering & Delivery

Q: How do I place an order?
A: You can order directly through our website. Once we receive your order, our team will confirm all details — including delivery dates, base requirements, and optional extras such as insulation or installation.

Q: What areas do you deliver to?
A: We deliver throughout mainland UK. However, due to distance from our warehouse some postcodes are subject to additional charges. Please see our delivery page for more details.

Q: How long will delivery take?
A: Delivery times vary depending on the model and season, but most cabins are delivered within 3–5 weeks. Custom or larger models may take longer. We’ll confirm an exact date once your order is in production.

Q: Do I need to be at home for delivery?
A: Yes, someone will need to be present to sign for the delivery. Cabins are usually delivered kerbside on large pallets using a hi-ab truck.

Installation & Self-Build

Q: Can I build the cabin myself?
A: Yes! Our self-build kits come with all fixings, pre-cut timbers, and easy-to-follow instructions. Most customers with basic DIY skills can assemble a cabin over a weekend with one or two extra pairs of hands.

Q: Do you offer an installation service?
A: We work with a network of experienced installers across the UK. When you order, simply select “Installation Required,” and we’ll arrange everything — from scheduling to completion.

Q: What kind of base do I need?
A: A flat, solid, and level base is essential. Concrete, paving slabs, or timber frames are all suitable options. If you’re unsure, we can advise or put you in touch with one of our base specialists.

Maintenance & Aftercare

Q: Do your cabins come treated?
A: Unless otherwise stated, our cabins are supplied untreated, allowing you to choose your preferred wood finish. We recommend applying a good-quality wood preservative or stain immediately after installation to protect against moisture and UV damage.

Q: How often should I re-treat the cabin?
A: We recommend re-treating every 2–3 years depending on exposure and the product used. Regular maintenance ensures your cabin lasts for decades.

Q: Are your cabins covered by a warranty?
A: Yes. All log cabins include a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty against timber defects and manufacturing faults, provided they are properly assembled and maintained.

Planning & Regulations

Q: Do I need planning permission for a log cabin?
A: In most cases, no — our cabins are designed to comply with UK permitted development regulations. As long as the cabin is under 2.5m high (within 2m of a boundary) and used for domestic purposes, planning permission isn’t usually required. Always check with your local planning office for confirmation.

Q: Can I live in a log cabin full-time?
A: Our standard cabins are designed for leisure or garden use, not as permanent residences. However, we can supply upgraded residential-spec cabins on request — complete with insulation, electrics, and plumbing options.

Payment & Support

Q: What payment options do you accept?
A: We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfers, and PayPal. Finance options may also be available on request.

Q: Can I see the cabins before buying?
A: We occasionally showcase models at trade shows and partner display sites. Please contact us to find your nearest display location or to book a consultation.

Q: What if something is missing or damaged on delivery?
A: In the rare event of missing or damaged parts, simply contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We’ll send out replacements promptly at no additional cost.

Q: Do you offer after-sales support?
A: Yes. Our team is on hand to help with assembly advice, maintenance tips, or warranty claims. You can reach us by email or phone anytime during business hours.
